Green and sustainable origin of wood

The main production facilities for the majority of the oak wood we use are in France and Germany, both of which are oak-rich regions with higher rates of tree planting than tree harvesting. We now have the opportunity to manage oak log production in a sustainable manner. Furthermore, because of the wood's consistent provenance, we have better control over the degree of tannin, which is critical for maintaining the consistency of smoked color.

And our engineered flooring can have a variety of bases, ranging from plywood to soft wood core, with species ranging from spruce to birch. We use complete birch plywood as the core of our two layer engineered flooring because it is high quality, weather resistant, and contributes to the floors' dimensional stability.
